Carnival Vista Fun Ship Facts!
The Carnival Vista Carnival’s newer “Vista Class” of ships, which bests Carnivals Dream Class of ships. Carnival’s Dream Class were previously the largest in the fleet. The Vista was built by Fincantieri shipyard of Monfalcone (Gorizia) at a cost of $780 million ($US). The ship was delivered in April 2016. At 135,000 Gross Tons, it is currently one the largest ships in Carnival’s fleet, along with the Carnival Horizon and Carnival Panorama.
The Vista is the first ship since the Carnival Miracle to utilize ABB Azipod Propulsion. Azipods are rapidly becoming at standard item on modern cruise ships. They offer significantly better maneuverability, and up to 18% better fuel efficiency. The ship can travel at 23 knots (43km/h, 26.4 mph)
The ship has a length of 1062 ft (324 m), Beam (width) of 122 ft (37m).
The Carnival Vista can carry 3,936 Passengers (based on double occupancy), and has a crew of 1,450. This provides a Crew to Passenger ratio of 1 crew member for every 2.7 passengers.
